Does the gpu depend on the ghz power or the cores? like can i get a 4.0ghz quadcore cpu or a 3.6 six core cpu? does the gpu depend on anything else? i have a build already but im looking to upgrade my gpu.. and i want to know if i should upgrade anything else for it

current specs:

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX
AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE

You have a pretty good looking board there it'll handle a new processor just fine. Your current processor unfortunately is a quad core zambezi/bulldozer which has rather lackluster performance (roughly 2nd/3rd gen i3). You really could do with a new CPU either a FX-6300 or a FX-8320 would be your best choices depending on budget both of those are based on the newer and faster vishera/piledriver cores.

If you can only get a GPU now then I would get that and upgrade your CPU when you have the money just remember any CPU intensive games will still not have optimal performance if you go that route. Everything else looks pretty good depending on which GPU you choose.

How about the FX-6350 and the Sapphire Radeon R9 270X as my gpu? and is my power supply enough for the upgrade? i also have a Sapphire 7770 gpu currently thats only 1gig, i was hoping to dual these cards.

That's a pretty decent mid budget build should let you play most all games on at least med settings some high might be thrown in there too. You can't crossfire a 7770 and a R9 270X. Good news is that the 270X blows the 7770 out of the water about twice as fast so I would get rid of the 7770.

Your seasonic is a great power supply and should power a FX-6350 and R9 270X with no problems.
