Hey guys. Here's the thing. Ive got 2 laptops.
1st) Lenovo T61, core 2 duo, 1gb ram with Xp installed

2nd) Asus EEE pc with intel atom N 450, 1gb ram with win7 starter installed.

I want to install linux on my asus netbook as sole OS and since there will no longer be any support for xp, and I dont want my win7 starter go to waste (since I have legit product key), I want to install Win7 from Asus Eee to my old lenovo. Is this "OS swapping" possible and legal?

I'm against piracy when it comes down to operating systems. But yet again, not being able to use Win 7 product key, that I actually paid for is plain stupid and absurd.

How about Windows Vista 64 bit? that probably wouldn't work on that Lenovo laptop, would it?

I've got so many original disks with product keys, yet nothing suitable for my old laptop.

Microsoft can ALWAYS figure out that you swapped it. It will need reactivation, as it is running on new hardware, and being a copy tied to a specific machine that just won't happen.

Linux Mint is currently installed on my lenovo laptop. I don't like the fact that some applications look like you went back in time. For instance, skype. There's 6.2 version for windows, and 4.2 for Linux, which, lets be honest, looks horrible.

Okay here's the thing: I bought components in 2009 to build a computer and they said I could buy Vista as well. So I did. I also got a cupon with Vista, saying that I can upgrade it to Win 7 for free. So, in 2010 I got free Win7. I just changed few parts inside my computer this year (motherboard, cpu.). does that mean I can't reinstall WIn on this computer??

Ive got 2 product keys. 1 is win 7 starter oem without cd, the second one is Win 7 Home Premium which is oem as well, but Ive got original disk for it. So, basically, either of these are illegal to install on different computers, if I understand it right

The Windows 7 OEM license is permanently tied to the first motherboard it is installed on and cannot be transferred to another except in the case of failure and the same make/model MB is used as a replacement. If either of your two copies have been previously installed and activated they cannot be reused.
