I used AMD overdrive.auto tune feature. It sets and tests stability while giving you different clock speeds to set it. No matter what speed I set it to videos are real choppy. If I disable it and go default the problem immediately goes away.

Amd 8350/ cpu / 7950 gpu

See if you can change your video driver to vsync on.

I couldn't find that setting in AMD catalyst. I tried other ones but same results.

Go to preferences, click advanced view, on the left column now click gaming, then 3d application settings, and adjust waiting for vertical refresh (it's on a scale from performance to quality; try quality all the way for vsync on).

Also here's a vid (although he shows to turn it off, you want it on):

See if it works better somewhere in between but for now try one extreme or the other to see if this is a setting that helps or not.

Even an auto overclock can be unstable!

If you're going to overclock at least learn how to do it right manually in the BIOS and test it to rock solid stability.

Quote:
(Quote from AMD website)
AMD processors are intended to be operated only within their associated specifications and factory settings. Operating your AMD processor outside of specification or in excess of factory settings, including but not limited to overclocking, may damage your processor and/or lead to other problems, including but not limited to, damage to your system components (including your motherboard and components thereon (e.g. memory)), system instabilities (e.g. data loss and corrupted images), shortened processor, system component and/or system life, and in extreme cases, total system failure. AMD does not provide support or service for issues or damages related to use of an AMD processor outside of processor specifications or in excess of factory settings. You may also not receive support or service from your system manufacturer.

DAMAGES CAUSED BY USE OF YOUR AMD PROCESSOR OUTSIDE OF SPECIFICATION OR IN EXCESS OF FACTORY SETTINGS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER YOUR AMD PRODUCT WARRANTY AND MAY NOT BE COVERED BY YOUR SYSTEM MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY.

And on most boxes!

Quote:
"AMD's product warranty does not cover damages caused by overclocking even when overclocking is enabled via AMD Overdrive or ATi Overdrive software."

So if you're actually going to overclock, don't settle for the crumbs falling from the table!

Just learn how, and do it right! :)

I found those and played around with them results are the same. I got a friend on TS that will help me. I'll probably do it thru bios. I'll get back here let you know. .

I do agree with Ryan and SR71. I've been working too hard to even give my typical lecture. Find a good guide and follow it; you'll learn so much more and get so much of a better result!
