Hi,

I got a HD 7750 to replace an old NVIDIA 9400GT.. As I mentioned in my
gpu-faulty.html
, The new card gave no video output. I've tried this card in another system and it worked.. Some members suggested replacing the PSU (280W and 18A on one 12v rail), So I'm considering upgrading the PSU.

The system specs:
LENOVO 3000 J200 9691
CPU: CORE 2 DUO E4600 2.4GHZ
RAM: 2X1GB Kingston DDR2 667MHZ
GPU: GIGABYTE AMD HD 7750 OC (880MHZ) PCI-E 3.0 (Previous: NVIDIA 9400GT PCIE 2.0)
MB: Intel 945GC (PCIE 1.1)
PSU: STOCK PSU 280W (Single 12V rail: 18A)

As you can see, The system is old and outdated. So I'm not going to spend too much on a PSU.. I want to be able to use this system until the next year when I upgrade the whole system..
Now, after I did a research I'm considering one of the following PSUs:
1. In Win Power Man IP-S450BQ3-3 - 450W - 2 12v rails with 18A on both - 53$ - 2 years warranty
2. Corsair CP-9020052 - 350W - single 12v rail with 25A - 47$ - 3 years warranty
3. Seasonic SS-400BT ECO 400W - single 12v rail with 30A - 67$ - 3 years warranty

Which one should I go with? I realize that the SEASONIC one is the most powerful among the three but does it worth the price difference to run a card like HD 7750 for one year?
BTW, The other system where the card worked had a 350W PSU (from the same brand of the 1st PSU in the list - 40$)..
Will upgrading the PSU make any difference at all (regarding the "No output" issue)?

Solution
The corsair is probably better for that video card then. I honestly dislike multiple rails, if one rail starts to go you are screwed. So just go with the corsair solid brand and amps.

Admirable
I would of got the gtx 750 ti since it requires no pci-e power connectors and has been shown running on a system with a 250w power supply. But the corsair power supply will have 5 to 6 amps leftover after the card is installed. but http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026 is the best value it used to cost only $20 for a while but now it's back to retail. so for 2 more dollars than the CP you could get builder series. Also even though your system is old you still would see some benefit if you upgraded the ram to 4 gigs

I've ALREADY bought HD 7750, and since it's fully working in other system, replacing the GPU is out of the question.
The mentioned Corsair PSU (430W) is about 75$ here where I live..
So do you think that the Corsair 350W is better than the other 450W? Will upgrading the PSU solve the problem at all?

The price difference between the Corsair 350W and the other 450W PSU is negligible. The only bad thing about the 450W PSU is that it's a multiple rails PSU.. That doesn't seem good... So is it still better than the Corsair 350W?
Yes, I can afford 2GB of extra RAM but the motherboard doesn't :) It has a maximum limit of 2GB :(
