GPU upgrade fail

Yesterday I tried to upgrade my GPU from Asus Geforce GTX 560 Ti to Asus Geforce GTX 760 Direct CU II OC, it all seemed good up until I turned the pc on. I got no video output whatsoever. Then, I decided to try the on-board hdmi output and there were no changes in the outcome. Tried many ways to solve this issue however I do not get any video outputs anymore.

Could there be a reason why this could be happening?

PC Specs;

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.90Ghz
8GB DDR3 Ram
1TB HDD
Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti 1GB DDR5

Can you get your old video card to work at all?

could be a power issue, could be a duff card equally, they happen. if you put your old card back in does it work?

Delta has some of the cleanest power supplies that I have seen. They always do an amazing solder job and normally use a stacked pcb. but the 760 requires 30 amps which is 360 watts on the 12v rail. Unless the power supply has a fault in its 12v rails and their not combining correctly that shouldn't be the problem.

I've tried it with the old GPU and yet no change. I still don't get any video output. This is odd.

Did your ground yourself while you installed the video card? You can also check all of the cables and take out the battery for a full minute and see if it works.

I'll try that today, yes I was grounded (such reference!)

I don't understand why I would not get any video output when I take the card out and try the on-board hdmi output, or with the old GPU - this suggests that there is another issue than the GPU card malfunctioning. Perhaps the motherboard itself? :/

Just try the cmos battery quick and see if any cables got bumped.

I've tried the CLR_CMOS pin solution - PC wouldn't even startup when the pins are set the Enabled (1-2), took the Bios battery out and reinstalled it but no difference, still no video output.

Do you have access to an old vga monitor or cable? I normally use vga when I diagnose a system.

Yes, I do. However the on-board video output is only HDMI. The GPUs are currently out.

Just put the new one in again and try the vga with the converter that came with the card.

I didn't receive a converter with the card however I think I can find one somewhere around. Although I'll have to check back to this as currently I have to rush out. I will update you on this later today, thank you very much for your help so far.

I cleaned the ram drives and reset the bios again and this time it worked fine. Thank you very much
