Use 2 GPU's for 2 seperate things?

Is it possible to use 2 different same brand GPU's for 2 tasks.
My plan is to use a HD7770 with an R9 270X.
Im not interested in crossfire im wondering if I can use the 7770 for running the non-gaming tasks like Google and displaying the OS and the R9 for gaming...
Is this possible because I already have the 7770 and i want more performance on games.
Is it possible without losing performance or should i just ditch the 7770 for the R9?

No, that is not possible. The drivers would infringe with each other. What you are asking for is a dual monitor setup. Quite a lot of GPUs have more than 1 DVI output, if you use DVI, it will cost you a lot less.
