Bluray hdcp problem

According to the control panel, my gpu and monitor is hdcp compatible. I have a 780 ti with the latest update and the qnix 2710 1440p monitor. I have an asus bluray drive. I'm running win 7 as well.

I'm using Arcsoft TotalMedia version 6.0.1.123 to attempt to play bluray. The movie starts to play then stops and gives me error code 2002 and saying that my system is not compatable with hdcp.

I tried using powerdvd and it still doesn't work. I disconnected all other monitors and returned my refresh rate back down to native, messed with all settings and still cannot get it to work. I'm using the supplied dvi-d cable that came with the qnix monitor.

I'm confused! Help?

Download from Arcsoft the "BD Assistant"and it will tell you where your system is failing the HDCP check, then we can work from there.

That's pretty cool. I didn't know that existed. It says the gpu driver and the connector type (analog) not hdcp compliant

The movie wont play. I thought all dvi-d cables are hdcp compliant. I don't understand why nvidia would have the baddest card on the planet if they can't make an update to make bluray play.

I'm guessing that I should roll back to an older driver update and buy a different cable. I'm not sure

I had a similar problem with my current LG Blu-Ray drive with my (AMD) Gigabyte R9 290X 4GB Windforce 3X OC. i am running windows 7 Professional and here is what may work for you;

To start what is your model number of the drive?
Is it this? BW-12B1ST

I have the Asus BC-12B1ST I check the firmware version and it seems that there is only one.

Anyone else have any input? I downloaded total media rather than buying it. Maybe I'll try a different player that is actually meant to be free and see if that works. Last resort would be to reinstall Windows to see if that fixes the problem.

could you run this software and update on the information, it'll give me idea of what to do next;
Maybe even check/update (if there is one) the firmware version whilst your at it

I got it to work! I didn't know you had to update geforce beta I thought it was well, just a beta not the official update.

I played an actual blu ray disk and I must say, It looks like crap, for a blu ray. I had spent some time adjusting the settings and I'm still not satisfied. Too grainy. I guess I need a better monitor or an actual tv.

Whoa. Thousands. Maybe I'll just stick with my monitor. I'll try messing with lowering the refresh rate tomorrow.

lowering the Hz won't do anything, it'll just change the FPS speed of the monitor.

Yeah, your right it didn't do anything. I played it on my Asus vs239 1080p ips monitoring and it looked better. Later on, I'll try renting different movies.
