first of i'm new here so bare with me. (sorry if this is the millionth time someone has asked this question)

After much saving up i want to but a new intel processor that will require a new motherboard than the one i have in my custom machine i have now.

So if i swap out my processor and motherboard will it require me to install all my files again on my 1tb hard drive or can i just swap it out, turn it on and forget i even got a new processor and motherboard.

little hard to understand so sorry for that but still thanks.

If your budget supports then buy this,
I5 4670k LGA1150 4th generation
MSI Z87 G43
Or
I3 4130 4th Generation
Any Gigabyte LGA1150 motherboard

And as for the files. It is always recommended to go for a fresh Windows installation when changing this much components. So, I'd recommend to backup all of your Drive C and do a fresh windows installation and then install all the drivers.

No - your software stays the same. You might have to update motherboard drivers though - Bios, Sound, ....
