Hello , I hope this is the right place to post this stuff. I am looking to play mostly online MMO type games on very high settings , possibly Everquest Next when it comes out which uses Voxels and seems to be pretty Cpu intense at least in it's un-optimized state currently, I have never built a pc and never overclocked anything , but I figured it might be good to keep the option open. I know my build doesn't have a HDD now , but I figured a 240G SSD could get my OS and a game or 2 on it until I can afford to buy one. I am only using 260G on my current system which has quite a few games I could easily delete to free up space. Does anything look wrong ? any opinions before i waste my tax return money on a bunch of parts I will likely fry anyway when I try to put them together ? thank you =) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/jake032978/saved/#savedbuild_1010966

So things I would change. I would change the motherboard to the ASRock Extreme4. Solid motherboard with an awesome price. Change the RAM to a 2 stick kit to utilize Dual channel RAM and I would also get 1866 MHz RAM. Haswell chips do benefit from higher RAM frequencies for a low cost. Change the GPU to a non reference GPU for cooler temps. The power supply is a good one. It's kind of in the middle though. A 600/650 watt power supply is more than enough for one 780, but if you want to SLI later on, an 850 would be a better choice.

Couple things about SSDs. First, never defrag. SSDs are not like HDDs. Second, you will want to leave about 25% space free on a SSD. Based on the way SSDs are designed, this space is needed for reading and writing. If you fill up the SSD, it will slow down. And finally, the SSD you chose is a good one, but I'm a Samsung EVO fan and I'd get that one if you are willing to spend $20 more.

Reference coolers exhaust heat through the card's heatsink out the back of the case. Non Reference cards exhaust heat directly off the heatsink into the case. Non reference cards are usually cooler. You have a good case with the ability for good cooling. You should add a fan to the top to help with air flow. But fans are easy to add. I'd build the system and then check temps for about a week.

Well that sucks about the power supply.
