Hey guys, I'm having trouble trying to get my dual gtx670s to work in sli with hypersli. I've tried reinstalling a fresh windows, changing drivers and switching the cards around also bridge. I'm just about fed up with this and need some serious help

Motherboard is a Z77 Extreme4 M with a 750W thermaltake PSU
EVGA 670 and GIGABYTE 670 both 2GB

I have it urged into slots 1-3 if anyone asks

On that board, you need to have the cards in slots 1 + 3, not 1 + 4.

Hi,

I have the cards plugged into slots 1 and 3 as the other one would not allow the card to have any ventilation

No, it needs to be in the ones that are close together, which will suffocate the GPU somewhat (price you pay for µATX). PCI-E4 is the slot at the edge of the board, which is a PCIe2.0x4 slot. It won't work with SLI.

Hi just a follow up, should I suffocate them? Could this cause any problems? Because right now hyper sli isn't giving the results and I'm keen to fixing this

It should be OK-ish. Just be careful with the temps and pile lots of cooling around there.

I'd probably have the GB as the top card.

Hi, just another question how should I remove hyper SLI? Since it's no good, also with temps and stuff I have a bunch of fans, about 5 in total. Will that be enough?

Yeah, remove Hyper.

Make sure they're intake on the front and side, and exhaust top/back. Try to put them as low as possible.

Alright, so to remove hyper I have to reinstall windows? Also should I leave the case open and put a stand up fan facing the pc to keep everything cool?

Edit: I can't seem to figure out how to uninstall hyper sli?!

I'm not sure what you need to do to remove Hyper. Reinstalling windows is probably a good idea though, especially as you won't have much time invested installing stuff.

Stand up fan will blow dust everywhere.

Alright I'll reinstall windows and start fresh. Stand up fan is a bad idea then, I'm still worried about the cards being so close, what kind of temps will I expect ? the gigabyte does have pretty good airflow though.

I'm not really sure what temps you'll see.

A side intake directly beside the GPU is probably your best option for reducing temps.

Do you think this is a good idea or should I just return re mobo and try and find a non uATX? Because I didn't realise it was a uATX. I paid around $200 for it problem is finding a mobo for my socket 1155 in Australia is just f****ed. Literally are none.

If you can return it, I would.

Does look like the boards are pretty rare, though.

I can, but then in left without a motherboard. I really don't know what to do. I'll attach a pic of my setup and you help me decide please.

pretty mucht theres a fan ontop of the pc, one on the back and 2 at the front.
I have an Antec 900 V2 Case.

That picture is with the cards in the wrong slot still, I havent moved them yet... im still contemplating

I'd install the side fan in that case.

Check that it works before sending the board back, though it should.

Ebay looks like the place to find Z77 boards in Aus.
