My rig:

FX-8350 4GHz
R9 290 Tri-X 4GB
8GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz

I can get a pretty stable fps in Diablo 3 when playing single player (99% of the time 60+) but when playing Multiplayer with 4 friends, it goes below 60 fps most of the time. I don't know why but I feel like the FX-8350 processor is not very good for Diablo 3, but is great for other games. For example, I can run Bioshock Infinite on Ultra with a constant 60 fps, and Crysis 3 on Low/Medium with a constant 60 fps.

Is my processor just bad for Diablo 3 or is Diablo 3 just bad optimized?

Diablo 3 uses 2 cores.. having an 8 core is a waste for a game like that, most/some of the newer games are starting to have quad core support.. (bioshock: infinite)

the 8350 isn't a very strong cpu when you look at individual cores.. and is bottlenecked when paired up with that 290 in terms of gaming. if you were rendering/video editing.. you'd have a good PC.

You could try and OC it.

Also on a side note, Diablo 3 is also not very optimized.. so its a lose lose.. =\

Yea I already thought that, too bad, I'm probably gonna upgrade to an i7.

I'm gonna try and OC it, let's see what happens.
