Hello everyone,

Yesterday when I tried to switch my computer on it gave me 1 beep followed by 3 beeps and no display on my monitor. The CPU fans were running fine.

I removed my 5970 from the motherboard and replaced it with another card and my display was back on and my computer worked fine after that.

I tried cleaning my computer thoroughly still dint work.

I also tried inserting my 5970 in a different slot but I still get 1 beep followed by 3 beeps.
The fan on my card works fine but it just wont boot. Just the beeps.

Does this mean the card is dead?

Could there be a problem with the PSU ?
Please help, I will leave my specs below if it helps

AMD PHENOM II BLACK EDITION

850W CORSAIR PSU

ATI RADEON 5970 BLACK EDITION 2GH XFX

4 GB HYPERX RAM

ASUS CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA MOBO

Thank you

If nothing works, look up bake graphics card linustechtips tips, this can fix any bad sauntering jobs. Just remove shroud and set to 350 degrees for around 5-12mins, 7 is good. Remove any plastic that might melt. Also, if it broke, good time to upgrade to. R9 270x,a nd maybe more ram, too.
