Just finished my build and sure that I've done everything correctly. Connected every thing and tried to boot it up but nothing comes up on the monitor and there's a solid red light (cpu led) on the motherboard.

The heat sink should not be able to move. Make sure you have it installed right.
Check all of the jumper. Make sure the 8/4 pin CPU power connector is on right.
Check all of the connectors. Make sure the 20+4 pin connectors is installed right too.
Make sure the GPU has power. Are you getting any beeping?

All the fans are spinning fine. I tightened the cpu heatsink fan done correctly but the heatsink can move a bit if I try to move it. The CPU was definitely correctly installed. I'll try moving the RAM, currently there both in Blue slots
I meant put 1st slot RAM stick into 3rd slot, and 3rd slot RAM stick into 1st slot!
I had boot issues in my old PC and it helped me few times!!!

Yes, the is a problem. If they do not list it there is a high chance it will not work. (VERY)Get some RAM that is compatible.
This is actually 100% false. It is actually VERY hard to find RAM that is not compatible. Don't forge that there are only like 4 different manufacturers of RAM so generally they are all always compatible.
OP, your RAM is 2.5v DDR3 RAM. It is compatible. This is not the problem.

Ok thanks. I was thinking about that, I'm sure that I didn't damage the CPU pins when installing unless they were bent when I bought it.......
I tightened the heatsink down best I could but there is a bit of movement could it have bent a pin? Could a bent pin damage the mobo socket? (I doubt it but want to be sure....)
Thanks

Not yet. The RAM says it's designed specifically to support the Intel Core i5 and Core i7 dual channel memory DDR3 solutions...I guess this is a problemNo that doesn't mean anything. It is NOT the RAM. That RAM is perfectly fine for your setup. That is just marketing BS they put on the box.

Could be a bent or missing cPU pin. Could be your CPU cooler not being tight enough. I know this sounds weird, but I have seen many instances with this board and the Intel version where this problem was remedied with the proper amount of thermal paste (some people add too much and it leaks over the side of the CPU), and tightening down the CPU cooler as tight as possible. Really wrench it down.

Here are two. It seems to be a common issue with ASUS boards of all kinds.

Hey if you can try this. try removing the thermal paste you made with rubbing alcohol and add a pea/dot sized drop DO NOT PAINT THE CPU THE HEATSINK WILL DO IT ITSELF after that re-seat cooler nice and tight power it up and tell us how it goes if you can. someone had a similar problem due to too much thermal paste.

Not every time. Some MOBs are very picky.

That may help you. Try doing a hard reset of the MOB.
It may have a jumper to do this. You can also take out the battery and wait 10sec.
Make sure it is unplugged. Make sure the MOB is not shorting out on the case.
