Basically im after a cheap NAS system.
Dont worry about the storage drives, just the PC that will be dedicated to providing this.
im after something thats energy efficient, size doesnt matter, heat doesnt matter, but it needs plenty of scale, as i hope to have a raid array connected with possibly 6 or more drives.
i would love to be able to access this from anywhere but via the LAN for now will be enough
to show why i need scale:
i have 2TB of films and growing,
plus 130GB of music,
plus 400GB of games that WILL grow to possibly 2TB,
Plus there is about 60GB of photos that will grow,
plus it will be using a raid array in case of failures so for every sata port that equals 2TB of usable storage
