Great Forum!
What i have decided on so far is:
i5 4670k with Asus h87-plus,
Gtx 660 or r9270x,
8gb corsair vengeance 1600,
1 TB WD hard disk(normal),
22" samsung monitor,
500 watts corsair CX500.
My priorities are all mixed up, i need it for designing, video editing and also gaming(not hardcore), so i do want to overlock atleast to some extent. My budget is tight, can go up more like 20 $ or so. Especially, i want some advice for the mobo, should i go for a h87 atx board or a z87 micro-atx board, cause a atx z87 would increase my budget a lot. Also, let me know if i should compromise on something and invest on something else, like the ram( do i need the vengeance?). Power supply enough?

All of your suggestions will help me. Thank you for your time.

For designing and video editing you may need more ram , I would put 16 GB. Ram prices are pretty much the same across the different brands. The power supply could be raised to a 650w. Corsair is a good brand but the CX model line is the lower end so if your staying with that model line then I would increase the watts. Overclocking will put more of a demand on the amount of available power.

if budget is a big concern... why dont you go with something like an AMD 8320 and ASUS m5a99x mobo. you can save like $200 right off the start with that setup.

My budget in Indian currency is around Rs. 65000, so that is like $1080 US dollars.

Yea, I had a doubt about the power supply, can you suggest any specific model? And is the mobo fine? does an h87 overclock?

Noooo, I don't want to go there. Someone told me an i5 performs way better than an amd 8 core!

In the Corsair line the TX ,AX , GS or HX series are better and more reliable. A seasonic ,XFX or Antec power supplies are good brands. You cab overclock with the H87 MB but the Z87 would be better.

In single core thread tasks yes i5 is significantly faster than FX-8320~8350, even i3 is faster but in multi-task FX-8320~8350 would be as fast as i7!
