I have cooleermaster elite 311 case and a coolermaster thunder 600w PSU..When i put the PSU down facing Some portion of the PSU got obstructed as the vent is smaller for the 120m fan...but if i put it upward i afraid if the hot air from the PSU will make the inner case hotter..Don't know what to do help

My PC

Hi, it is not strictly regulated - it´s a suggestion. You see there are many ways of mounting from other people's built.
In your case, if you are worried for the mounting face down, you can touch the PSU during full load conditions. If it´s going hot, than need to change. This CPU and three HDD´s shouldn´t stress a 600W PSU. I don´t see any VGA in the configuration. VGAs are the most power consuming devices in the PC today.

No, PSUs (normal ones) exhaust air out the back of themselves. Pulling air in at the fan. I would leave it as you had it. If you have a lot of heat in your case already, you don't want that heat going into the PSU.

As long s the PSU does not feel warm/hot to the touch and air comes out the back you are fine.

The better way to place the PSU in this case is to do face down.
Even the case bottom ventilation whole area is <120mm fan. As long as the area is more than half of the fan, the psu can still suck the air in to cool down the heat.
