Hey guys, I am trying to build my first gaming PC and I wanted to get everyone's advice that was possible.

I will be using my computer to live stream my games that I use on the 360 and X1 so I will be using my el gato. Also I will do PC gaming with gaming titles like Titanfall and COD. I need a computer that is fast and can handle doing video editing, streaming, photo editing, web browsing etc.

My budget is between 1000-1500. I am obviously a noob at making computers so hoping for the best advice possible.

Side note - id like to use Newegg to purchase all the products necessary also.

Well I would keep the 4770k as my suggestion. You'll benefit from the extra processing abilities that hyper-threading allows (only for i7s). If you still don't feel like going with a 4770k, then a 4670k will do the job, just not as fast.

CPU- AMD FX 8350 - $200
Cooler- Antec Kuhler H2O 650 - $69.99
Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-990fxa-UD3 - $133
RAM- Gskill Ripjaws X 4x4 @1600 mhz - $149.99
OS drive- Kingston V300 120gb - $74.99
Storage drive- Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 7200 rpm - $89.99
Case - Cooler Master HAF series is good and cheap. Case is totally preference. -~$100 (this is the price range i recommend)
Power supply- XFX Core Edition PRO850W 80+ Bronze - $119.99
Drive- That stadard Asus drive that everyone has - $20
GPU- ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 GeForce GTX 780 3GB - $519.00

Total- ~$1477.95

By going with the fx 8350, you can put extra money into into your GPU. I was really trying to push the boundary of the budget, so i allotted the extra money for a more powerful PSU (to allow for upgrades later) and more money for a better case.

PS all these prices are newegg prices.

I like your build, but only if you are going for just gaming. If he's looking to create media content every other day and possibly every day, he will need a very strong machine that can handle the load. Not that the FX 3850 is an inconceivable choice for media creation, however, the 4770k will beat it in almost every regard.

The 780 is a great GPU but doesn't bring as much performance per dollar as the 770 and, with the 780 TI out, I don't see a reason to no invest in it. In the end, if he is using one monitor at 1920x1080 then there is no real benefits to get a 780 or a 780 TI.

Besides that, the cooler master HAF is an ugly looking case in my opinion. This is just my opinion and a case is one of the most subjective choices you have when it comes to building a PC.

The fx8350 + 780 combo is better for streaming (tek syndicate has already shown this) and recording the video (you'll be able to achieve a higher resolution and fps). It will be higher quality experience overall. Yes, the 3770k is better at manipulating the content via editing, compressing etc (although depending on your software of choice, the 8350 is right on its heels), but its not worth sacrificing gpu performance for a slight cpu edge in a few categories. If money isnt a concern, then get the i7.
