Hi there!

So I just received my 3rd GPU today after 2 faulty ones in a row (good luck).

These are my current specs:
Intel Core i7 4770K stock-cooler
Gigabyte GA-Z87-DS3H
MSI Radeon R9 280x (amd drivers)
Crucial Ballistix 16GB Sport kit
Corsair GS Force Series 128GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Silver Power 650W

The computer works perfect, until I run it under load for a little while. I ran kombustor, every stat looked good until 10 minutes - then the driver failed and restored. When I ran trackmania, planetside 2 + a sample crydev game. Then it got a BSOD (didn't have time to see error code)

I'm running it with AMD's drivers, should I try to use driver sweeper and use MSI's drivers instead?

Kind Regards,
Erik

check the temps while you stress it and see what it goes to before it crashes. for that card, it may become unstable over 90c, and try to stay under 80c. also, make sure you have the latest drivers, and btw how many amps are on your 12v rail?

its about 60-70, far beneath. Don't know, sorry - silver power 650w if you want to check :)

if it is manufacturer overclocked, it is a safe, stable overclock. however, i would disable it then and see if that fixes things. use msi afterburner to underclock it a little. dont mess with the voltage yet though, only core and memory speeds.

downclocked it now to 900MHz core and 1000MHz memory, and it ran at 99% load in about 18-19 min before the driver failed

hmmm.... that is a bit odd. did you get your driver from the cd, or did you download it?

Did a few reboots and some updates, ran the fans a little extra (dunno if helping), tried at stock speed + enabled AMD Overdrive - no failing yet;)
