Hello All!

So I am looking at building a new PC. Its time as my current machine is about 4years old-

i3 550

I am going to be keeping the PSU as its a year old. I have the GPU already too.

My question is- As I have to buy part by part, paycheck to paycheck. Can I start with the new case first and port my old system over and build up from there?

I have a HP pf6606 i think, pre built mid tower.

Here is what I will be getting-

http://

Not my first build but its been a while.....

Any guidance on parts and build, appreciated

Not really. At some point, you have to port the software over. And if you don't have all the stuff, you might have to do it again. And again.

So:
Either buy the parts one by one, saving them in the boxes until you have enough to actually build it
or
Save the money little by little, and buy it all at once. You may get better stuff this way.

I would most probably go with part by part and build then when I have everything...That would make ore sense.

Would the i7 be over kill for the system? Im toying with the idea of the i7 or the i5 4670k. Is the $100 difference worth Hyper Threading and 2MB extra cache?

Or is that a new post all together?

Thanks again, just needed to see it differently with building it.
