Hey guys, I recently overclocked my i5 to 4,4 ghz (1,215v) and I would like to ask you if there is some way how to make the cpu to underclock when I am not gaming/editing etc.., because 4,4 ghz when I am just browsing internet looks like waste of cpu power.

And my second question is, if 4,4ghz with that 1,215 core volage is safe and if the cpu will last for a couple of years of gaming.

You can't underclock your CPU unless you manually go into the BIOS. And the voltages are decent enough and just make sure the tempertures don't go above 84c or it will throttle.

i personally don't keep my 3570k overclocked cause i've had no use for the over clock but i did notice that setting the computer to power saving mode drops the speed the cpu runs at a lot lower.
however i did post some question relating to power saving mode and was told that even if i was running my computer at power saving mode it has minimum effects on power saving

As long as SpeedStep is on in the BIOS, it should be downclocking to 1.6GHz when not under load - can check with CPU-Z, OCCT, or the like at the desktop.
