I deleted the virus software "PureLeads" from my Windows 8 computer using the control panel "delete a program." It appears to be gone, but now I can't use the internet. The computer tells me I am connected but when I attempt to go to a website on Firefox or Chrome it does nothing. It doesn't even tell me there is no internet it just stays on "new tab." Short of reinstalling the operating system what can I do?

I do not. I had just gotten a SSD and was installing all of the stuff I had on my last computer. I think I picked it up from freeware off download.com.

The thing is that it is not just firefox. Internet Explorer and Chrome both do the same thing. I've gone through and reset all of them, cleared temp files, ran virus scans, and every other little thing I've found with a basic google search

you may have to reinstall all of them for the virus scan did you made one at start up to completle scan back up and archive also try malwarebytes to see if it will find some spyware software on your system ,the name of your virus software and does it is up to date on the virus definition and the software itself .
