I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro l500 with XP Pro loaded on it. It came with a Win 7 recovery disk. Can I use that disk to install Win 7 since after today XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft?
How do I do that? Do I just put the disk in and follow the instructions, if there are any?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Is there a Microsoft sticker on the bottom? If so, it should say what operating system it was shipped with and also have a Windows license key with it. I would hesitate to try to recover Windows 7 if it did not ship with 7 and does not have a Windows 7 license key.

I'm not sure what a Windows 7 recovery disk will do in your situation. I think it will just boot up in a Windows 7 installation/recovery environment, which would allow you to repair/recover an already-installed copy of Windows 7 (which you don't have), or let you recover Windows 7 from a hidden recovery partition on your hard drive (which you may or may not have).
