So i made a clean build and this happens:

upon booting i get the following error code and no display: A2.

My CPU is an i7-2600k at stock settings.
Ripjaws X 1600 Mhz 8 GB Dual Channel
Zotac GTX 580 1.5GB
OS: Not yet installed (Clean build)
HDD: Seagate baracuda 1TB ST1000DM003

The GPU is plugged into the first PCI-E slot starting topmost. and the DVI cable is connected via adapter to the monitor to the GPUu.

However if i remove gpu and put the cable in the mobo vga port it booted up to bios. The GPU is a known working card. it has been tested after this incident on another pc and works fine. Some people are saying i should move the gpu to the bottom most slot? that primary graphics only work on bottom most slot, is this true? Also hardware secrets says that since i am using a sandy bridge my pcie 3 slot will run at 8gbps. Does that mean my GPU cannot rn in ifrst two slots?

I pressed it hard enough and screwed it into the casing as well as moving the pcie-slot-lock over the gpu clip, can it still be un-properly seated? (pardon my english)

I pressed the clr CMOS switch. Doesn't that count as resetting CMOS? And the Asrock Z77 guide says that if the mobo led is giving A2 it means IDE Detect error. But its clearly not my hdd's fault since i get bios on iGPU?

I haven't actually done this, but manual says its already at PCI E Graphics by default. Will try this next tommorow. at the moment, i have given up and packed shop. This was my first build, so much for perfection :(

Yeah, so the put GPU in bottom slot and it will magically work is bull?

Yeah i know, the only thing that made me think otherwise was a report by hardware secrets that if you are using a Sandy Bridge CPU, the top two slots (controlled by cpu) will only give 8gbs bandwidth x16 whileas with ivy they will give 16gbs bandwidth. However bottom most is controlled by chipset and should run GPU?
