The CX , VS and RM supplies all use poor capacitors.
The CX SERIES is poor , would never use one.

cheap capacitors means under watt performance . high ripple on 12v rails . tends to go bad when under full load cause capacitors can't handle that much heat

I put a CX500 in my parents DELL Optiplex and it died in 6 months.
They are poorly made and no meant to be stressed.

I used a Corsair CX430 in my HTPC but the thing was a gigantic POS, first time I got one it shorted out on me, the second time it completely failed to boot, and I wasn't even using a high end GPU at that.

To address the other side, i ran one rig off a cx 430 for a year, and another off a cx 500 for about a year, never had any problems. That being said, they are known to have lower quality parts, and i did replace mine as soon as i could when budgeting allowed. Also, the 600 and up and the modular CX's use a bit better parts, but the lower end ones should only be for low end computers, and probably very temporarily at that.
