Hello, I was planning on going with the Asus Z87 Pro motherboard but the gold color put me off completely. I'm wondering what are your thoughts on this board? The black-brown pcb and silver tones across the board look really good in my opinion. Unfortunately, the reviews on Newegg have sincerely scarred my perception of Asrock.

Any thoughts? Perhaps some suggestions for a similar-looking board with better reviews?

Thank you

What about a green and black? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128671 I think it looks pretty good. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128591 is also a really good board which is pretty much all black but in the light the pcb does reflect a brownish color. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128618 looks nice but it only has crossfire support not sli. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128604 another G1 sniper but with more features but a smaller form factor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130691 really nice board from msi really strong overclocked but with a just a little bit of yellow on the chipset heatsink

Yeah, I would go with Asus any day if it wasn't for the gold and red schemes they have going on with their motherboard lines. I'm going with a white and black build so that does kind of limit me in some way. The maximus hero is especially noteworthy but the red clashes with everything. I was thinking about getting a black motherboard which is why Asrock caught my attention.

Do you know about any other reliable boards that may fit into my build? The Asus sabertooth is off my list since the dust shield and mini fans completely put me off. Thank you.

Wow thanks for the quick response! I took a look at all those motherboards, really great suggestions. I'm looking into the Gigabyte board with the blue tones. After taking a look at multiple boards, I get a sense that all reviews will be divided evenly between those extremely pleased and those with either DOA boards, or bad experiences with customer service. I'm looking into the gigabyte vs. as rock boards now, thanks.

Yeah gigabyte is a really solid brand. I build a lot of systems for both gamers, and for businesses with them for about 4 or 5 years now and haven't had any complaints about systems dying. I think most of the DOA stuff just comes from the package not being handled correctly during shipping for the most part. If you ever looked at ups or fed ex videos you can see them tossing expensive stuff like its a bag of sand.
