Question about case noise?

I was just wondering about the noise in my case. So the case was going to purchase is the Corsair 200R. The sound was about 33.2DBA when it was running based on a benchmark and I was wondering if I bought 7 fans that were 25DBA, would it run loud?

well it doesn't matter the number of fans, rather it matters about airflow. sound will always increase the more airflow you have ASSUMING nothing else changes. you can reduce noise by making sure wire management is top notch, tracking the flow of air through your case and determining what will reduce turbulence. the latter is only going to help marginally but should assist with fan speeds so no fan is working against the rest.

The fans themselves won't make much difference to the noise level. I'm not sure though what you are trying to achieve. The components you have chosen don't need this additional cooling. A case like this will leak noise everywhere and extra fans just push more air around unnecessarily.

The noisiest components will be the video card and the CPU cooler. If what you want is a quiet computer, look at a case with less holes for noise to escape. You can also replace the CPU cooler with one that has a quiet 120mm fan.

For a case, look at the Fractal Design R4. It comes with covers for the unused fan mounts, noise reducing materials to absorb sound, two silent fans and a fan speed controller. For a CPU cooler, look at the coolermaster hyper 212 evo.
