Motherboard may be the culprit

Uncertain as to what the cause is, may as well start with the heart - every one in a while, (almost every time I start up the desktop). In the middle of 'working' the PC will freeze up. There is a red light on the motherboard that started lighting up about 5 -6 months ago. Uncertain as to what it refers to. today something different happened, the PC restarted without prompting me. The mother board is: ASUS M5A97. Power supply: Neutron 750watt. Memory: Corsair 4GB (x2) Vengeance. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad Core 3.6GHz. The OS hard drive is two ADATA SSD, program drive is a Western Digital 400GB HDD. Is there a conflict between the two different types of drives? The SSDs are RAIDED. The SATA ports that the drives are on, are RAID ready. Removed the RAID card thinking that would resolve the situation. seemed to for a while - maybe about a week... Help?

For one, the trim function does not work on ssd's in raid configuration. You need to manually optimize the ssd's every now and then. What is the MHz of the memory. If timing and speed is not configured right, this could cause similar problems too.

How does one deal with the TRIM function?.. or manually optimize the ssd's?
The timing sounds familiar, feel like a rookie now...lol
Did not overclock the memory but did set it on the highest setting, will attempt to go lower, about 1066MHz I think, should do the trick. If not back to square one. Thank you for the memory kick in both departments, mental (remembering that the memory settings can be set) and physical (the memory sticks may have something to do with the way a PC behaves).
Still searching for an answer...motherboard, SSD's or memory. :)

Ok, will attempt an app for the ssd's. Thank you!

* Cannot seem to find an app. Where would you suggest looking?

Thank you Spooky2th for your input... will look at the web pages on SSDs. However this build was rebuilt and now is no longer effective as a working computer for the future needs of this household. Thank you all for comments. Looking forward to other problems and fixes.
