so i just tried my first overclock on my fx8350. I have a hyper 212 evo installed as well. so my first try i set it to 4400 at stock voltage. when i ran prime 95 my cpu temp started reaching 70C. i restarted and restored defaults. Is this normal during a stress test? If not then what do i need to do?

Prime will put load on the CPU you never see in the real world and temp therefore will go a lot higher than normal load which is what counts.

Yea but it scared me to death. So I should just go with it? And I was running the short test as a premeasure. What happens when I run the full test? Wont this damage my cpu letting it run that long at that temperature?

It will throttle before damage.
