I recently updated to a 32" Sony Bravia R400A (720p) HDTV as my monitor.

http://store.sony.com/32-class-31.5-diag-r400a-series-l...

My video card is an AMD Radeon HD 6670. The driver is fully updated.

The HDTV has two HDMI ports. No VGA or DVI. My Video Card has an HDMI & DVI-I port.

When viewing the screen in 720p, there are black bars around the side. When overscanning to fit the screen, the text becomes more blurry (not that it was great at 720p).

I have done ClearType & increased text size. This helped a bit but did not fix the issue.

The TV has a "Scene Select" option, and one of the options is "Graphics", which is apparently more for PC use, but the option does not let me choose it, and I am unsure why.

Is there a fix to this issue? Perhaps running DVI-I (PC) > HDMI (HDTV)?

I'm new to all of this stuff, but I'm trying my best to learn/research (keep that in mind with all of your computer jargon).

Cheers,

Chris H

The fact is that TVs are not computer monitors. Computer monitors are optimized for computer output including sharp text
I suggest you try a monitor (borrow if you have to)

So there is really no ways to improve the output using a 720p TV like this one? Wasn't what I was hoping for, but understood if it is what it is.
