Im looking for a long lasting decent graphics card. I want a card that can play current games well and future games decently. Currently ive been looking at the r9 270X, I want a card that can play games at 40+ fps at medium settings, this card can do more then that, but I dont know much about GTX. I dont have an AMD over GTX preference, and my price range is about $200 dollars, does anyone have suggestions on a good card meeting my needs for around that price? Other then the r9 270X?
(my system is intel i7 2600 3.4 ghz 16 gigs of ram dell xps 8300)

More like 6-10%. But in terms of in game performance GTX 760 is only about 5-8 fps more than 270X. Not much difference comparing actual performance. But its also dependent on what kind of processor he has. Mantle benefits low-mid end CPUs + newer Direct X APIs which is better considering the fact the console games that are on PC are designed now for AMD.

If GTX 760 has similar pricing then go for Nvidia. But 270X is priced at $220 for brands like Club 3D. So its a good buy compared to $260 for GTX.

But why 270X? When 270 is the same card as 270X just clocked...

But why 270X? When 270 is the same card as 270X just clocked at lower speed. Much cheaper too.
