Erratic Wireless Speeds

I'm currently using an ASUS N56U connected to a TC8305C gateway in bridge mode provided by Comcast. My problem is that my wireless speed is erratic and power cycling isn't fixing the problem. For example, I can run two speedtests one after the other and get 5Mbps down and then 22 Mbps down!

My router was giving me normal speeds (50Mbps down) for a few days and now it's driving me crazy. I faced this same issue before I bought the router and was using the gateway for wireless. In both situations if I sit next to the wireless source I get my full speed. The devices I need to have access to WiFi are about 20-25 feet away and separated by two walls.

I'm really hoping you guys can help as I'm at my wit's end with this networking business!

I already have the router set to 2.4, and I'm not quite sure what you mean by wide range. Do you think the walls would cause the signal strength to jump around like that and even sometimes reach full speed?

this router dont have this option so check your router user manual to see if you could use both frequency and try to use channel 9 ,the other thing swivel the router a bit to see if signal get stronger there are a lot of settings you could ajust in the router for a specific device .
