I'm running Windows Vista home premium 32 bit on a Dell XPS 410 and just today was out of the blue given the blue screen and upon reboot system repair ran but on reboot stopped on the system boot screen with a floppy diskette failure.

After a little research I replaced the CR2032 battery on the motherboard to no avail. When booting the computer (port-00: no device available) shows up and I'm pretty sure that's not right. It stays on the boot screen for ~ 2 minutes then the system beeps and I'm left with a floppy diskette seek failure with the f1 key inoperative while the f2 is. I now believe I need to replace my motherboard is there anyway to confirm this? Any help would be much appreciated and I can provide any more information if nessecary!

Check your boot order...Maybe you have your boot order messed up, you will find this in your BIOS.

Well if your computer has a floppy drive disconnect it and disable it in the BIOS. If you don't have a floppy then when you replaced your battery it may have had the default of enabling the floppy drive and is thus expecting it. Again you need to disable it :D .
