hi, my name is shahin, and i was wondering if i could use a corsaid h100i 240 mm radiator in a custom loop... i know it sounds crazy, but let me explain. i bought the h100i a few months ago thinking i wouldn't be interested in a custom loop, but ive recently thought more on the subject and ive changed my mind.my question is this, can i salvage the radiator and use it in a custom loop, since radiators are expensive? has anyone ever done this before? if so, what was your results?

I suggest you start fresh and buy actual radiators meant for custom loops.

Because of the integrated pump it would fight any other components in the loop, and wouldnt supply enough flow for more than the CPU.

Start fresh, dont go half way on water cooling.

I once had some success adding a additional radiator and a GPU plate to a corsair h60 all in one. There should be no reason you can't use the radiator in a custom loop.

There are some problems you will probably run into.
1. The liquid they use in the cooler is not pure water, it's a mix and you'll have to be sure to clean it all out of the radiator.

2. The radiator uses a very small, built in barb. you have to be careful when removing the tubing. I scratched mine and the exposed metal wound up eroding into the rest of the loop. The barb is a small 1/4 inch in the h60. So you'll have to make sure to use similar barbs in other components in the loop.

Really the rad is not all that expensive given the cost of the rest of the components. While I can respect you wanting to "see if you can" I would be wrong not to advise you to just buy a new RAD.
