I recently upgraded to a 4670k and z87 g45 mobo. When booting with a disc in I get a black screen with A2 on the bottom right. And there is also long beeps and that type of chatter going on.

If I boot without a disc, everything seems fine and dandy until it starts to load windows and I get a very swift bsod before it restarts.

Any ideas?

Sorry man I thought you could enter bios!

I checked around and apparently the A2 code is referring to a Storage Detection/Initialization issue.

From what I found in the MSI support forum your mobo is having difficulty detecting the drives connected to it.
If you disconnect all drives (SSD/HDD) you should be able to access your BIOS.

Once you do get into the bios you should install the latest version which should take care of the issue you are having.

A second thing I found is that there may be a compatibility issue.
Is your SSD SandForce 12xx or 15xx? If so, it's not compatible with Z87 chipset.
Hope it's not that...

Usually the BIOS "beep" codes mean hardware errors, and BSODs mean OS errors (in this case probably caused by hardware).
Unfortunately for you MSI seems to be stingy with the info about what the beeps mean.

I suggest starting off by updating your BIOS to the latest version available and take it from there.

MSI has released many updates for your mobo so be sure to update to the latest (v1.7).
