    My Tale of Woe
I built a new computer recently to be used as an AutoCAD workstation. Windows installed without incident and everything looked good. Because I used a 120GB SSD, and the computer has 16GB of RAM, I did make the windows page file smaller and disabled hibernation (I don't know if that's important information or not but it's the only thing I've done out of the ordinary).

I set the computer up in the office where it was going to be used and spent the better part of the morning installing programs and getting it connected the local office network. No problems.

I got a call two days later because the computer had crashed and was displaying a BSoD (STOP: 0x00000101). After a reboot, everything was running fine. The application that was in use when the computer crashed had been used a lot over the previous two days without any problems and launching it again didn't cause any errors.

After some Googling, it looked like it might be the CPU causing the problem so I replaced the CPU with a brand new one from Amazon (FX-8350 Black Edition). I ran a burn-in test and let memtest 86 run overnight. No BSoD so I thought maybe I had fixed it.

I hadn't. About a week later, I got another call. The BSoD just flashed this time and then the computer came back up. It's crashed once more since then (twice in one program and once in another). I've not been there when it crashed and neither I nor the guy who normally uses the computer, can get it to repeat the crash. It just seems to randomly crash.

I've got the minidump files from the crashes (here) but I don't really know what I'm looking for in them or how to properly debug one (if anyone knows of a good guide I'd love a link).

    Summery
The computer crashes seemingly at random giving a BSoD and if you open the log files it seems to have to do with the atikmdag.sys.

I don't know how to really make use of the log files so I'm hoping someone can either take a look or point me in the right direction so I can figure this out.

    Thank you very much,
    Eric

atikmdag.sys has something to do with ati graphics drivers. do you have the latest catalyst driver 13.12 ?

Thank you for the fast responses! I have the latest driver installed and I tried your suggested fix on Friday Ifkfkfkffs but I just got a call and it's crashed again. Any other thoughts? I'm planning on switching out the video card tomorrow with a card that I know works to see if there is any change.

I guess I would try the video card like you said and see what happens, if it happens again I guess that would point to maybe some incorrect settings in the motherboard or possibly a fault in the power supply when it draws to much power
