Hi Everyone,

I have a bit of a problem and just wondering if anyone can help me out.

I've just finished building my budget gaming PC

Power Supply: 500 Watt With Power Cable Supplied
Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3
CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six Core CPU (turbo 4.1Ghz)
Memory: 8gb DDR3 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance Memory
Graphics Card: MSI R9 270 Gaming

My problem is that when i play a game for 15mins and slightly more my PC shuts down without warning and it won't turn back on until i put power cord out of the power supply and put it back in and it will do the same thing again after 15mins of playing a game so could someone please help me out and tell me what is going on.

Thanks

There can be variety of issues for this problem. I advise you first to check your PSU. Monitor your temperatures(CPU and GPU). Alternative you can do stress test on the CPU and GPU as-well and see what will happen.

Ok, so it could depend on what game you are playing and what cooling you have available. The FX6300 will boost to 4.1Ghz under stress, therefore generating a lot of heat, the stock cooler is not ample for the heat and so your computer shuts down to prevent CPU cores getting damaged. I recommend you install something like core temp for CPU temps, you can check your GPU temps in the AMD Vision Engine Controller-Performance-Graphics Overdrive.
