Hello everybody!

I would need some help from the community:
So i play only one game, the League of Legends, and for this game, the NVIDIA game optimaiser suggested "very high" at all video option opportunity, with full HD resolution.
Thats how it should work. When the game starts i have about 100-130 fps with this specification, but during the game if some serious effects happen, or i move the cursor too fast, i can get fps drops to 15-25 fps for 2-3 seconds,
I tried to reinstall driver, to end every task with task killer, which could use some resources. I also tried to reinstall the whole system. But the problem stilled.
If i set video settings to "low" i still have the same issue, just the lowest fps is about 20-30 fps, instead of 15-25.
Automatical uptades are switched out.
I tried mem test too, it didnt run for a night, and i only used it from windows (so not the 100%-of the memory tested) but it didn't find anything.
I tried the TechPowerUp GPU-Z too. And according to it, during the game:
The maximum GPU load: 81%
The maximum memory controller load: 61%
The maximum video engine load: 9%
The maximum memory useage (dedicated): 0 MB
The maximum memory useage (dynamic): 222 MB

Please help me to find out what can couse the problem. I am sure it should run on over 100fps... It used to when i bought the notebook.

Specs:
i7-4702QM
NVIDIA GeForce GT750M
8 GB DDR3

A GT750M is not very powerful. You shouldn't expect much from it. Heavy work (81% usage) will drop back the fps. You might have to set up for less detail in the game.

Have you got CPU-Z too? It'd be interesting to see what % usage the CPU is at while the GPU is at 81%.

It is powerful. Also nvidia suggest "very high" setting for it, but otherwise, League of Legends, is not require the best high end tablet PC GPU-s. I mean GT750M achieved about 1500 on "http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php", and my previous card achieved 350. And with that card, had also run on "low" specification with about 60-70 fps. This game is made to be able to played on nearly every game...

And an other strange thing for me: The maximum memory useage (dedicated): 0 MB?? Why it has 2GB dedicated RAM.

So the CPU-Z didn't show me any CPU useage MAX, but the task manager did, and its always under 30%, even when i get the FPS laggs. But i checked the GPU-Z thoroughly, with each settings, and it is shows like:
-with very high settings, i can get 99° of GPU soon, and 99% of max GPU useage.
-with everything setted low, and the shadows off, i get 80%-of max GPU useage, and until now (only tested for about 15 min) my laggs stayed above 35 FPS - so playable.

But still dont understand, because this GPU has 5x times preformance than my previous one, what also worked well on very low fps.
How does it possible, that it can work fine on 120 fps for a while, and get a lagg what drops the fps to the 25% of that, just because some little effect in the screen? And why does the GPU RAM empty? (why does it uses dinamic RAM)

If the 20-130% CPU usage is correct it means that the GPU is doing all it can. Can you overclock the GT750M. If you Google Linus video on YouTube he says that such low ends are really a waste of time. If I was buying a laptop, I'd be looking at least a GTX of some kind. The GT's only have DDR3 memory for a start.

Your card may be able to play LoL at high settings, but don't kid yourself, that video card is very slow by today's standards on desktops. You'd have to go back 6 years for that to be considered a high end card in performance. Granted, LoL isn't a highly demanding game, but it is going to barely squeak by when playing demanding games today at low settings.

Does that performance happen while plugged into the wall? Laptops often need to be plugged in for maximum performance. Laptops also constantly fluctuate their operating speeds based on heat.

Due to the portable nature of laptops, they don't compare to desktop in performance, and most PC games are built with the idea of playing on desktops. This means, some games will not run well on that laptop, which is entry level for gaming laptops, but it is built for gaming. Just don't expect to play at high settings in most games.

Yes its plugged in. But still dont understand how does it possible, that the whole environment visualisations works on 100-120 fps, but when some effects happen, it can go down to 15-20, it is seems queit too much drop isnt it? And still dont understand why doesnt it use the GPU RAM, instead of the dynamic RAM?

Do you have any idea, if a good notebook stand, wind fans could help on this case? I mean until it reaches the 99° about, its goos well...

So guys, i have found a video on youtube, which in a guy have the same notebook like me, and have the same performance like i had, when i bought the notebook.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ILoa048mg8 (so full settings, capped at 60fps)
I am thinking about, that does it possible that the thermal paste went wrong in my notebook, and that makes the overheating, and FPS dropping?

I have tried out the BurnIn Test V7.1 Pro too.
The results are the following:
Maximum CPU temerp.: Temperature thrshold exceed (continnously, after a short time...)
CPU coverage: Temperature thrshold exceed (continnously, after a short time...)
RAM: no errors
2D graphics - memory: no errors
3D graphics: Temperature thrshold exceed (continnously, after a short time...)

Any idea?

Eldonto I was curious if you ever found a solution to your overheating problem. I also have an Acer V3- 772G-9829 with the same specs, and am having the same problem.
I pulled up some monitoring software and it seems that the CPU will get to about 80 Celsius and then it will clock down it's multiplier to 8x which drops my in game frames down to nothing. It then jumps constantly between 32x and 8x clock speed because of the heating issue.

I recently bought some IC Diamond thermal paste that i'm going apply sometime within the next few days.

Hey Alex!

Yes, I found. You have to take apart your notebook and clean the fan. Mine was totally blocked by dust. You can try to clean it with compressed air spray too, but I think it wont help, bytheway it worth a try. After I cleaned it I never had the same problem again. (Except when the daytime weather was 38-40 °C at last week, that was too much for it :D).

You can find tutorials on youtube how to take it apart. Good luck to do it ! :)

That's great to hear! I've been having problems with this computer for close to a year and only recently figured out it was overheating. I'll go ahead and clean the fan when I apply the new thermal paste since I already purchased it, and I'll give you an update as to whether or not it helps.

Thanks for the Info
Alex

It looks like my fan was completely clogged. I cleaned it out, applied new thermal paste and now it's running like a charm. I tested it for 2.5hours gaming and the temp maxed at 74 Celsius.

Just an update on my tinkering.
I noticed that programs were hanging so frequently that I would start to get frustrated with waiting. So I install moo0 system monitor and it identifed my HDD for bottle necking my system. The HDD would jump to 100% and lag the whole system out.

So first I upgraded my ram to 12gb and turned off the page file in hopes of it not needing to use the HDD as often. That didn't seem to make much of a difference.

So next I ordered a 128gb mSata drive and installed windows 8 with a recovery usb from the Acer software. That seemed to make all the difference. There is now no lag once so ever and it runs better than when I bought it. Here is a comparison of my old factory HDD Vs the new mSata I installed.
