So I was trying to install this cooler in my old board Gigabyte 970A UD3 and I happened to partly destroy my Northbridge. It is kind of weird. I have some game sounds, but not all. So I will be replacing it with the ASRock 990FX Extreme 3. Does anyone know if there is any fitment issues with this board? The 970 would not clear the Memory on the lower fan. I will be installing this cooler outside of the case for an easier time and then just moving everything in to the case afterwards.

But I am looking if anyone has experience with this cooler fitting with the location of the RAM on this particular motherboard. ANy help would be great.

I thought this also, but I couldn't fit 4 sticks of RAM on the 970A either way. It can only go 2 ways with the AMD mounting system. One way the heat pipes hit one of the RAM sticks. The other way the bottom fan didn't get clearance. I suppose I could Just remove 4GB of RAM since I have a 2x4 if I have to.
