Hello everyone!

I was wondering, before I make my decision whether to upgrade from my GT 230 or not; I would like to know the answer to a very simple question.

Will my i7 870 @ 2.93GHz with no over-clocking capability be able to support an ASUS GTX 770 when playing stuff like:

- Metro Last Light
- IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover
- Payday 2
- Alan Wake
- Planetside 2

I hope to be using this card for around 5 years, at which point I will probably replace my motherboard and CPU.

I'll probably be keeping the card for longer after that too.

What do you guys think?

I'm open to suggestions about getting a different card, etc.

Solution
yes, that i7 procesor, though it may be a little old will handle that GPU fine and there won't be a bottleneck whatsoever.

Make sure you have a good quality PSU around 600 watt, then you'll be set for the GTX 770.

Another card? I would opt for a R9 280X 3GB 384-Bit, As I am a fanboy of AMD, but both cards do better in different things, taking blows in different things, so they are both quite close but I would place bets as an overall on the R9 280X.

I've considered the R9 280X, but there are more NVidia-based games out there I think.

Thanks for the answers by the way, I was pretty sure my i7 wasn't going to cause any grief! :)
