need some advice on PSU

Please i need some of ur expert advices if my current PSU can take on my new setup just addded Sapphire R9 270x from the previous HD6850 or if i have to change it to what they said True rated PSU.. will try to look into it..thank you

-CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 3,4GHz
-GPU: Sapphire R9 270x
-RAM: 40G DDR3 1333MHz
PSU - tommade 800wats ATX PSU <<<< Generic PSU

i think that 800 should do you just fine. Im running an 850w with an FX8350, 16gig of ram and r9 280x. with no problems. fwiw

would that be alright if its a generic one?.. someone told me that i should prefer to buy those True rated PSU's, to avoid problems ..is this true?

Yeah, I wouldn't trust the generic power supplies. They are made with inferior parts, and have been known to ruin entire systems when they die. 800w is way more than what is needed for your setup, but you want to get a quality power supply.

If you plan on staying with a single graphics card, a good 500w+ power supply from Antec, SeaSonic or XFX would be ideal.

You would probably be ok, but I don't feel comfortable recommending anyone keep generic power supplies, as a blown one might not just cost $50 to replace, it could cost 10 times that to replace the rest of the system it killed with it lol
