Is a corsair link worth it?

I upgraded from the H80 to the H80i and must say I have really enjoyed the software provided.

Corsair link allows you to watch the temperature of every component in your rig.. even the SSD/HDD. You can set the fans speeds and create different profiles based on what you need. Corsair also allows you to switch fans speed from quiet/balanced/performance with nothing more then a few clicks.. the glowing LED logo that can be set to just about any color is fantastic.. very bright and very accurate.

I'd definitely recommend it.

You can see those temps with free software tho.

Is it worth the $50 though? And i heard there are some sensors you can place anywhere you want?

Well, let's say you purchase a liquid cooler and a year down the road it leaks or something.. if any of the components within the rig get damaged.. Corsair will replace them. They have an incredible warranty with these products.

I can't remember if sensors came with it, I don't believe they did. Plus, they are CPU coolers and have one purpose.. to cool a CPU. I don't see how physical sensors could help you with that.

My suggestion is wait tell either the H80I or H100I go on sale and look at them then. I can't speak for other liquid coolers as I have never owned one. However, in my experience ( I work at a computer store in Canada ) The corsair lineup is the most reliable and with this software the best deal.

Now, if you are comparing this to the H60 or H55, yes it's essentially $40-$50 more for the ability to use Corsair link/LED functions and it does cool better. You pay for what you get i guess. I needed the extra cooling and honestly really enjoy the LED light as I have a windowed case and aimed for a certain look.

If you don't plan to OC and don't care about the LED light then go with a cheaper unit, I'll always recommend a liquid cooler over air as it's far easier to install and usually leaves more room within the case.
