'm having issues with my motherboard. Dell suggested me to replace it but they dont have the same motherboard in stock. I found one on ebay.com but its little bit different.

My cpu is intel i5 480m processor with 4gb ram. My motherboard is 0K2WFF 48.4HH01.011 with Ati radeon hd 550v 1gb card (ATI 216 - 0729042)

The mobo on eBay is 06V89f with ATI 216-0774007 which I think is Ati radeon hd 5470 512mb.

Can I replace my mobo with the one from ebay. Will my system will support this mobo with lower graphic card chip. Also I wanna know is can I go for a mobo with newer graphic chip on it. Need advice plz

Laptops have very few standars for part configuraitons, which is why the ports are almost never in the same spot from one vendor or model to the next.

There are some laptop models where a different board will bolt into the frame. If you switch from AMD to Intel or vice versa you will need to completely reinstall your OS and you will have to use a Windows CD and not your factory disk partiition.

With that said, unless you are certian that the board will work then I would not risk it. If you can not get a different laptop then I would only swap the same motherboard.
