uninstall windows 7 Hdd to reinstall windows 7 to SSD

Hey guys, I recently won a 240gb SSD which I would like to use to run Windows. And the Hdd will be used for library/softwares. Etc

I have seen many different ways to do this however I really need an easy step to step guide. Or instructions

So I need windows off my tb harddrive so I can use as much of the space as I can.

Thanks

  1. You can cloan your hard drive to the SSD.

I would recommend a clean install of your OS with the newest drivers though.
Cloaning can cause a lot of problems. The partition not aligned ETC.
Doing a clean install of your OS is the way to go.

  2. 1. Do you have the license key?
    2. If so, go here, download the same version, and install on the SSD.

    3. Reinstall your applications

There are various cloninig/migration methods, but I always recommend a fresh install on a new SSD. Why bring a bunch of old crap along onto the new speedy drive?
  3. Yes I would like to do a clean install I just need to know how to remove windows off my HDD then reinstall it onto my SSD. No cloning on migrating

Do you have an install disk? If so, use that.
If not, download the relevant ISO from my link above. Install and activate with your existing key.

Wipe the other drive after you reconnect it.
  5. Yep have my disks and my product key. So if I install Windows 7 on my SSD what is the best way to remove the old version that is currently on my HDD??

Is there anything on it that you want? If not, just wipe it.
If so....copy that stuff elsewhere, then wipe it. Be sure you wipe the original boot partition from the old HDD.
  7. Whats the best way to wipe the HDD I am better at the hardware side of PC's than the software.

For a full, complete, never to return wipe:
    DBAN

Or just go into Disk Management, delete any and all partitions. Make one big partition. Format.
  9. Thanks a bunch I'd give them all best solution if I could

Thank you to all who helped :)
