I have an i5-2500k bought the day they were released... I have no need/desire to upgrade to ivy/haswell and unless something revolutionary happens within CPU design - I'm expecting this gaming PC to work fine (at least on the CPU side of things) for another couple years before looking to upgrade.
Granted my 2500k self-turbo's 4 cores to 4.4GHz and idles as a normal SB chip - so the performance is well above a stock 2500 with lower overall power consumption (and heat produced) compared to a perminant 4.4GHz OC - so should have a good lifespan.
It's what I have. Ivy Bridge CPUs are only about 10% slower than Haswell. And since you have a 3570k, you can simply overclock it to compensate for the minimal loss.
Put the money in the new GPU. No need for a new CPU.
