Hey TH,
Me and my bro are interested in building a gaming computer split-budget (that's beside the point). So, because I have only some knowledge on the topic, I decided to ask you. Our budget is ~500$ and we will take care of the screen, keyboard, mouse. Here is what we want.
A nvidia graphics card (please respond if integrated gfx are good enough)
A 1tb hard drive (doesn't have to be too fast, loading isn't top big of an issue)
8-16gb ram( preferably the latter) and make it fast
Windows 7
A cool looking mid tower case
Intel or amd, I hear AMD is best for budget builds (and the 4ghz processors look appealing too)
I'm not into overclocking so not TOO much power, I may add on to it later
Noise isn't an issue. If I need a cooling system don't splurge on quite hardware
A 50-80$ motherboard (I don't need a freaking Asus rampage iv extreme)
Do you think 500$ will get us all this?
Cheers,
Daniel

Its Really a 50/50 thing on your budget. MotherBoard may be cheap what your looking for but nvidia graphics cards are some what expensive and will exceed your budget. But on your budget i think its not really a good budget. If it was $800-900 i could see a little bit more better quality of products.

You'll be a little over $500, but this setup will get you medium at 1080p in games like BF4. Pretty good budget setup, especially considering you need Windows.

The only game I have seen which needs 4GB to run is Watch Dogs and that's got some seriously over exaggerated specs. For the GPU I would go with AMD just because of the good price/performance level you get
