Best DDR3 RAM 2400Mhz

Looking to build a PC not sure about the RAM I need it mainly for fsx (so low latency), however for other games an the future. What would be the best low latency 2400Mhz RAM for under £180 (16GB). Also is it worth water-cooling it

I have the kit in these links. It's a good kit. Unfortunately for me, the first kit I received had a bad DIMM and I had to RMA it. Luckily the second kit was OK. Set my BIOS to XMP no problems thus far.

Just wondering because It has a high frequency I may not be able to clock the cpu too high (4770k) (hoping to get 4.6ghz), not 100% on that topic

What CPU? That and how good your individual CPU is will determine the DRAM you can run and how it OCs, my 4770K run 32GB of 2666 while at 4.6 24/7, for 4.7 or 4.8 have to loosen timings (to CL11) or drop to 16 GB and go up to 2800 DRAM

Yeah I read somewhere that using above 1.55v voids the warranty on the CPU (as if OC it does not) but I read that it f***s it up, does it.

No, if so I would have a couple hundred or more builds out tho, Intel even certifies DRAM these days up through 2800 and up, the bulk of which is 1.65 sets. I know I normally do about 50 or so client builds a year and primarily use (about 80%) sets 2133 (1.6-1.65) and up, the rest are 1866, tend to favor the Tridents for Intel (1866/8 1.6) and Sniper as a secondary (and prime for AMD) 1866/9 1.5

I'd go the Tridents at 2400/10 (and no need for water cooling it

The Trident's are the best I've run with Haswell rigs, if it had been a X79 then we might have been looking to Ripjaws Z

That's what I have (mobo/CPU), gaming will pretty much run fine with even 8GB (2x4GB) of 1600/9, for the video editing though I'd kick it up some and maybe look at 16GB in a 2x8GB config, the Tridents would be my ffirst choice as Haswell likes fast DRAM and scales well to it, so depending on budget would look at the Tridents or GSkill's Snipers in 1866 or 2133 (can even go higher with your combo - but budget starts playing in even more with 2400, 2666 and higher)

Hi Tradesman1,

I just completed my first built of a gaming PC. These are my system credentials.

i7 4770k
Asus Maximus VI Formula
GSkill Trident X 2400 Mhz

Currently my ram is running on 1333 Mhz. I turned on XMP but the ram is still running on 1333 Mhz.
Any suggestions?
