gtx 750 for 720p gaming

Solution
The 750 is a great card for for an entry level gamer. I would just get the 750 ti. The 750 ti is an amazing card which features the new maxwell architecture, and requires no pci-e power connectors. So if you find 720p a good resolution you will find that card more than beneficial for you. That card will allow you to add AA to your games which is basically fake resolution. So instead of the 750 I would go for the 750ti

This might give you an idea.

So, Metro: Last Light (MLL) is a Crysis 3 kind of game in that it is ridiculously demanding. Not even my 780 ti on an OCed 3930k can run it smoothly at a constant 60 fps with everything maxed out. The 750 ti can maintain an average of 50 fps (min 30) at 1080p with medium settings (no SSAA or PhysX). That level of detail still looks pretty good, and that performance is also pretty good on such a demanding game. Very few games will be as graphically intensive as MLL within 3 year, and by "very few" I mean that it won't likely be the average level of performance required for most games. Take a look at the results yourself. I think you'll have a good shot at being able to play at least 720p for a few years.
