We all know that intel have better performance than amd. And we all know that amd fx 8350 has better multithreaded performance than Intel core i5 4670k and intel has better IPC than amd. The problem is that some new games (watch dogs and middle earth shadow of mordor) are recommending an i7 or an fx.

These new games are making the cpu choice harder for me: I can afford the i5 4670k but these games can be a hint for us about future games' system requirements. So please help me choose between these 2 cpus.

Overall, the Xeon is the better choice. No need to overclock, i7 performance, less heat, and less power hungry.

if you don't plan on going crossfire/sli for your GPU save yourself some money and get the FX-8320 with the gigabyte 970a-UD3P and a cooler master hyper 212 CPU cooler, that way you're all set for great overclocking and epic performance in future games, put all the rest of your budget in the best GPU you can afford, something like a GTX 770 or even better a GTX780 if you can afford it.

I think I will wait for watch dogs to be released and benchmarked , if the fx will have better fps than rhe i5 then I will go with amd otherwise i will go with intel. I just don't want to Go with amd and say a day :"wish that I went with intel" and don't want to go with intel and say :" wish that I went with amd".

totaly understandable, watch dogs will be the first true next gen game to be released on PC and it will dictate the future, i can't wait to see it benched on both platforms, my guess is that with the 6 heavy threads it is said that it will use it will run better on 6 threads or more capable CPU's, but we will see !
