I have a 431 Elite Plus case and have a gtx 660 in it. It is a fairly large card and is blocking the airflow from my front intake to my CPU, or atleast heating up the air before it gets there. I was wondering if using the rear case fan mount as an intake and using the two tops as exhaust would be efficent Or will that just be pointless?

it can work... give it a try and see what happens to temps.

Rear should be used as an exhaust.

only if the cpu cooler is oriented backwards... if he has a stock heatsink on the cpu, or the tower cooler is pointing up, he might actually see an advantage using that as an intake.

I tried that with my antec 902, my tower cooler was pointing up so it wasn't harming anything. in the end i didn't see any change in temps and swapped it back to blowing out... that doesn't mean it won't help the OP

Very true , but like you said in most cases it doesn't help.

Yes, but my gpu is probiably the length of that mobo if not more, so the cpu wont get the benifits of the intake at the bottom
