4 powerful cores of intel like 4670K is far better then the decent 8 cores of AMD . INTEL gives more powerfull performance on gaming then AMD

It is AMD 8 cores that it's talking about. Otherwise everyone would need a $1,000 CPU just to play Watch Dogs. They probably recommend that you have 8 core because the console versions are built around 8 AMD cores. Keep your processor because it's new and very good for gaming.
